Instead, a much higher priced (and more capable) is touted as the replacement. In the OPs post, a situation is being described where the package that was previoulsy licensed is not longer available - even though both elements of that package are. And further, Autodesk's competition are producing functional, usable software at dramatically lower licensing costs, and much better subscription and support costs. It's the MS developers doing the heavy lifting now. Further, one would expect Autodesk's operating costs to decrease - after all huge portions of their development are now based on Microsoft's dotNet. the price jumps for upgrade and subscription are substantially higher, and absolutely do not reflect that. Inflation, which is what that directly apllies to, has been less than 2% annually for several years now. Thats' conventional wisdom, and like most conventional wisdom, aka old wives tales, is superficial and inaccurate. ![]() ![]() They can't keep prices stagnant as their own operating costs go up. Costs are going up for everybody - that includes AutoDesk.
